Who we are…
We are the biggest social facility at Ruhr-Universität Bochum. We organize more than 150 courses in roundabout 45 different sports disciplines. With our courses we try to satisfy the demands of our audience.
Our goals…
We aim at offering a diverse sports program under optimal conditions for the members of all universities in Bochum, especially students. We provide a broad variety of sport activities to students and employees to compensate the demands of everyday life. We want to contribute to the promotion of a healthy and relaxed university life.
Where to find us…
Office: very central, in the middle of RUB campus. Our offices are located in the Studierendenhaus (SH), level 2/ rooms 251 & 252, close to the Kulturcafé and the library.

How to register for a course…
You can book all courses online. Registration is necessary, because we want to provide ideal course- sizes.
Step 1: in order to book courses, you first have to buy a sports card for the winterbreak („Sportkarte-Ferien“). For students it costs 7,50€, university employees pay 15€, others/ externals 25€ for the. For payment, we charge your bank account.
Step 2: book the desired course (s) via the booking table on the website
Step 3: Your ticket will be presented to you in your web browser. Please print the ticket and take it with you to every course. You will have to present the ticket and your student- ID card at the entrance.
If you prefer to pay cash for your sports card and your courses, please come to our office during the service times.
When do the courses begin?
The university sports program for the winter semester break starts on Monday, 6th of February. In exceptional cases, some courses begin later. The exact date for each course can be found at: www.hochschulsport-bochum.de.
How long do the courses run?
Usually, the courses run until the end of the semester break on 31st of March. Exceptions will be announced on our website.
During the semester break we will prepare a program for the summersemester. This program links with the semester break program so that you should be able to continue your course without interruption.
